Apr. 19--Regional businesses will be recognized tonight for their efforts in creating safe working environments.
N.C. Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry will be the featured speaker at the annual safety awards banquet in Lumberton. The banquet begins at 6 p.m. at Adelio's Italian Restaurant, 3608 Kahn Drive.
Berry will present the honors to schools, county agencies, state department offices and businesses. The event is cosponsored by the N.C. Department of Labor and the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce.
