Apr. 21--PANAMA CITY BEACH -- Panama City Beach resident Denise Carter said she didn't really drink coffee before she started coming into Joey's Java Juice. Now, she's Joey's self-described "No. 1 customer" and particular about what she orders, the kind of quality-seeking customer Joey's owner Joey Purvis wanted to serve when he opened his first coffeehouse 21/2 years ago on Front Beach Road. Carter's preferred drink, which she calls "Denise's Mocha," calls for a 16-ounce mocha with skim milk, no whip, an extra shot of espresso and half the chocolate.
