Apr. 22--Stanford Lively Arts has been bringing top-drawer performers to the Peninsula for nearly 40 years. But its upcoming season feels different: Lively Arts is expanding outward by partnering with national arts organizations on blockbuster projects, and inward by knitting stronger relationships with musicians and other artists on campus.
Announced Wednesday, its 2007-08 season includes performances of new works by two of the leading composers of the day: John Adams' "Son of Chamber Symphony," co-commissioned by Lively Arts with Carnegie Hall and the San Francisco Ballet, will have its world premiere at Stanford University ...
