Apr. 22--Editor's Note: During Oklahoma's centennial year, the Tulsa World is taking a look at the settlement of Oklahoma by various ethnic groups. This, the third story in the series, looks at the Czech settlement of Oklahoma. PRAGUE -- The caption identifies one photo as a wedding portrait, the groom in coat and tie, the bride in frilly lace, both of them staring into the camera with a zombie-like pose, a rigid and almost morbid expression on their faces. If anything, the other photos look even more dour. In page after page at the Prague Historical Museum, the history books offer a bleak picture of life in Oklahoma Territory. ...
