Apr. 22--I tease Dianne Wilkins that she's an environmental police officer, that her job is not sexy. "It depends on the kinds of partners I can rustle up," she laughed. "When DEQ invites them, they're not coming. They're scared. That's really funny because as long as they do business, if DEQ wanted to find them they can't hide." Wilkins is manager of the Department of Environmental Quality's P2 program -- Pollution and Prevention -- which helps companies find ways to reduce hazardous and nonhazardous waste, water use and air emissions.
