Apr. 23--The first two steps in defending their TAPPS Class 5A state golf title has come relatively easy for the St. Joseph Lady Flyers. After winning the TAPPS District 3-5A title by 96 strokes, the Lady Flyers had an even easier time in defending their TAPPS 5A South Regional title with a 160-stroke victory.
But the Lady Flyers are not letting those numbers breed overconfidence in their heads.
"From year-to-year, you're never really sure what the competition will be like, so we're still focusing on what we have to do," Lady Flyers coach Jack Lee said.
