Apr. 23--The Williams High School Chorus of Burlington was the only high school chorus to receive a gold cup during an international music festival in Verona, Italy, April 6-16. "It was the highest distinction a chorus could receive," choral director Laura Sam said in a phone interview Thursday morning. "The kids were so excited that they carried it around with them most of that day." This is the third time the school has been invited by the Association of Italian Chorus of the Province of Verona, Italy, to participate. Williams High School students also performed in 2001 and 2004, in which they won silver and gold cups, respectively....
