I don't know about you, but from a laminate materials standpoint, I have solution overload. Twenty-plus years ago when I started in this industry, there was a handful of multilayer laminate materials--FR-4, FR-5, polyimide, BT, and that was about it. FR-4 was then and is now the workhorse product for the industry. It was relatively easy to be knowledgeable about those materials and pick the right one for an application when FR-4 was not the right choice. Admittedly, that short list of materials didn't always get the job done optimally, but you had a pretty good idea of what your options were. By the late 1980s, things started to change, especially in the FR-4 category. ...
