Seattle, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles Lindberg flew solo across the Atlantic in 1927 and television was first successfully demonstrated in New York. In Seattle, The Mayflower Park Hotel was born. The hotel started life as the Bergonian Hotel and has been in continuous operation ever since. One of Seattle's first uptown hotels, it was designed by architect B. Dudley Stuart, took six months to build and cost $750,000. Room prices ranged from $2.00 up to $10.00 for suites. The current owners, Birney and Marie Dempcy, later changed the name to the Mayflower Park Hotel in 1974.
