FREEMONT, Calif. -- What is your school's carbon footprint? How much of the carbon-containing gases that contribute to global warming does your school release each year? Kevin Shen, a senior at Irvington High School, can help you find the answer.
Kevin, 17, has designed a carbon emissions calculator. "You can use it to find out your carbon footprint and then take action to reduce energy consumption." Kevin told Current Science.
Kevin's calculator, called SchoolNeutral, isn't the handheld type. You have to go online to find it at www.earthteam.net/action_month/index.html.
