"There will be no taboos," said Jacques Barrot, the commissioner responsible for transport, speaking of the communication being prepared on Galileo, the European satellite radio navigation system, which the European Commission is expected to adopt on 10 May. The commissioner received a mandate from the European Parliament's Transport Committee on 22 March to examine all the possible options in order to break the deadlock surrounding the ambitious European project for several months (see Europolitics 3274).
