Apr. 26--American Indian women in Oklahoma are more likely to be victims of sexual assault, a study by Amnesty International says.

The 113-page report, released Tuesday, shows that Indian women are 2 1/2 times more likely to be raped or sexually assaulted than are U.S. women in general. The report projects that one in three Indian women will be raped, officials said.

Besides Oklahoma, the study examined Alaska and the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North and South Dakota.
