Apr. 27--Evelyn Rivera is a longtime Orlando Magic fan who wants a new performing-arts center built. But she has many concerns about a proposal to build $1 billion in downtown arts and sports venues all at once.
Rivera was one of more than 200 residents who turned out at Colonial High School on Thursday night to weigh in and get answers on the plans for a new arts center and arena and upgrades to the Citrus Bowl. Mainly, Rivera wanted to be heard.
"We've not been included in this process," Rivera, a case manager for the developmentally disabled, said, sounding a refrain other residents echoed.
