Apr. 27--The Big 12's new TV deal means Big Monday will soon be joined by Wednesday and Saturday. But fall Saturdays won't see a significant increase in Big 12 football telecasts.
The Big 12 and ABC/ESPN announced Thursday a contract extension that is reportedly worth almost $500 million, will run from 2008-2016 and extends from television across several multimedia platforms.
The deal, which begins with the 2008-09 school year, primarily concerns football and men's basketball telecasts on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. But it also includes women's basketball and other sports, and will place Big 12 content on platforms such ...
