Apr. 27--No thanks to its climate, but yes thanks to its "ambience," Toledo is one of the more livable places in the United States.
Places Rated Almanac for 2007 yesterday ranked Toledo 81st out of 379 metropolitan statistical areas nationwide.
Top quartile.
Take that, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (170), and Grand Junction, Colo. (210). How you like them apples, Appleton, Wis. (168)?
Then again, the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and Akron metropolitan areas all ranked higher than Toledo.
Propelling Toledo to 81st were its education, recreation, ambience, and health-care opportunities.
