Odissi: dance fan wants to learn more, migrates to India
Toronto, Apr 27 (PTI) With precision, flexibility and grace, the 26-year-old flawlessly strikes every pose of the ancient Odissi dance in the basement dance studio of her Kanata home where she spends hours every day practicing her moves.
She has also learnt to get into the full dance costume - a blue and gold custom- tailored sari, bangles on her wrists, bells on her ankles, a jeweled belt and necklace, and a wooden, handcrafted head piece fitted in her hair.
