Grupo Financiero Banamex, a Mexican unit of Citigroup Inc., has agreed to use Diebold Inc. automated teller machines to offer self-serve bill-payment capabilities to its customers.
Banamex is installing Diebold's Opteva machines that feature the technology, the North Canton, Ohio, ATM company said last week. The machines are meant to meet customer demand for banking services outside stamdard bank branch hours, Diebold said.
The self-serve technology lets ATMs accept bill and card payments to consumers' Banamex card accounts as well as standard deposits of cash and checks.
The machines use Diebold's Agilis software to connect the bank's network ...
