COLUMBIA, Md. -- The Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) rebranded itself. The trade group will now be known as the Restoration Industry Association (RIA). The name change is effective immediately. "The new name, Restoration Industry Association, captures the common thread inherent in the function and pursuit of every RIA member business," said Brian Spiegel, president. "The very nature of what the industry does is 'restore'--returning things to their previous or better condition."
