This is a brave, savvy and interesting book. Brave because the author expects that the book will attract a considerable number of critics, among them many environmentalists he chastises for not going far enough and many others for going too far. It is savvy because the alleged 'defection' of a green stalwart to the 'other side' will raise sufficient curiosity by all sides to extend his readership--and hence exposure to his argument--considerably. But whether this book represents a 'defection' is another matter altogether.
