Apr. 30--CRESCENT -- The Nohavitza family domination of cattle at the Wharton County Youth Fair and Expo's Sale of Excellence continued on Saturday with Chance Nohavitza collecting top honors. This year's win is the second for Chance, 12, a sixth-grader at El Campo Middle School and a member of the 4-H Saddle Club. He previously won in 2005 while his sister exhibited the winning steer in 2006, a steer that Chance helped raise.
"I've been showing steers since I was 8," he said. "The Good Lord has blessed the family and we put the work into it. The more you work with a steer the better it is going to be when you start competing."
