Apr. 30--Palm Springs is swinging again.
Mixed-use developments at either end of downtown and two high-end hotels under construction are leading a conga line of commercial activity.
The mixed-use projects -- the Port Lawrence and The Palm Canyon developments -- will be the first projects of their kind to be built in Palm Springs, said John Raymond, director of Palm Springs community and economic development.
The planned Hard Rock and Westin hotels near the expanded Palm Springs Convention Center will be the first high-end hotels built in Palm Springs since 1988.
