In last month's column, the big question about rimfire ammunition was left unanswered. We covered a lot of ground, but when we got to the mountaintop of suspense, I left you teetering on the brink without answering the big riddle. It was cruel, unfair and even sadistic, but there was a good reason.
The topic, you'll recall, was how the folks at Federal Cartridge developed .22 rimfire ammunition accurate enough to win gold and silver medals at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. It was the first time medals had been won with American-made ammo in more than 30 years.
