Noel Pointer, jazz violinist, recently died in New York of a massive stroke at age 39.
Pointer, who was nominated for a Grammy in 1981 for Best R&B Instrumental Track, made his solo debut as a classical violinist at the young age of 13 years old with the world renowned Symphony of the New World Orchestra.
By the time he was 19, the list of his musical experiences included work with The Apollo Theatre Orchestra, The Dance Theatre of Harlem Orchestra, and the Radio City Music Hall Symphony. He also worked the pit orchestras of several ...
