Nature or nurture?(reader survey results)

The results of our March survey--in which we asked, "How did you get into the boating lifestyle?"--boiled down to a classic face-off between nature and nurture.

Forty-one percent of those polled on TrailerBoats.com said they were "born with the water gene," putting the nature group only a stray chromosome behind the 42 percent who cited "family influences" and "experiences with friends" as their main reasons for getting into boating. Clearly, nature and nurture run neck and neck when it comes to putting people in boats
