Pacific Equity opening the books on Borders.

Apr 30, 2007 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Private equity firm, Pacific Equity Partners, is considering the purchase of Australian book retailer, Borders. The chain is being sold by it US parent. Pacific Equity Partners already owns Angus & Robertson in Australia and Whitcoulls in New Zealand. It has just acquired the Supanews newsagency chain and could float the whole group. Borders Australia's management also hopes to make a bid for the company, probably with a private equity group.
