Now entering its ninth model year and enjoying growth at nearly 10 times the overall industry rate, the Victory Motorcycles division of Polaris Industries is finally showing up on buyers' radar screens as "the other American brand."

Victory's price-leader 8-Ball model is a no-frills version of the company's flashier Vegas cruiser, but with a solid-black paint job and blacked-out bodywork, engine, fork, triple clamps, swingarm and belt guard, instead of Vegas' chromed goodies. Victory also keeps the price lower by installing a five-speed transmission in the 8-Ball instead of the more expensive six-speed box fitted to the rest of the product line. ...
