May 2--This is our quasquicentennial, not a word much used since few things made, or institutions conceived, by man last 125 years. We're proud to say The Free Press has.The two young men who came to Kinston in April 1882, even young men as far-sighted as Josephus and Charles Daniels, would scarcely recognize the newspaper they founded, no more than Jesse Grainger or Dal Wooten or J.A. McDaniel or the other men who powered Lenoir County into the 20th century would recognize this town or the towns around it. But change is expected, if not always anticipated, and we won't dwell on change. For obvious reasons.
