Abstract
Panic disorder is a complex mental ailment affecting about 3.5% of the U.S. population (Barlow & Durand, 2005). Without treatment, panic disorder can become disabling. As such, this article explores prevalence, causal factors, and effective treatment strategies for panic disorders, and it presents some treatment guidelines.
