NEW YORK - One of the most sizzling names in women's wear, 3.1 Phillip Lim, is igniting the men's contemporary market, and retailers are quickly warming to the designer's second men's collection, driving fall orders up 80 percent from spring.
Spring sales have been strong at Barneys New York, which has the collection in its Madison Avenue and Beverly Hills flagships. Outerwear, the "valet" jacket, pants and knits are moving fast, according to divisional merchandise manager Wanda Colon. The collection will be added to nine more Barneys and Barneys Co-op stores for fall.
