Apr. 29--FORT DETRICK -- Frederick County commissioners will form a committee to study the impact of Fort Detrick's expansion on Frederick city and county. The 2005 federal Base Realignment and Closure process, or BRAC, will bring about 225 jobs to Fort Detrick. Of larger concern is the additional 1,200 employees who will be on post by 2010 and beyond to staff planned laboratories and other buildings.
Fort Detrick's expansion eventually will add 20 percent to its workforce.
