Two Assembly committees will conduct public hearings into the state's Empire Zone tax break program in the wake of a series of Post-Standard stories questioning its effectiveness.
On Tuesday in Albany, the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions will examine the Empire Zone program and other job creation programs overseen by the Empire State Development Corp.
Later this month, the Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry will hold a hearing focusing solely on the Empire Zone program.
