Corporations today have a greater responsibility than ever to help solve problems including poverty, global warming and environmental concerns, according to one of the key speakers at this year's Ceres conference.
Robert Parkinson Jr., the chairman of Baxter International, told about 600 attendees of the conference on its opening day that the problems have become too big for governments to address alone.
Ceres President Mindy Lubber recognized the company as one of the pioneers in sustainability, having joined Ceres 10 years ago. It was also the first heath care company to join the group.
