May 3--Mayor Byron W. Brown's new budget plan would earmark up to $5 million to help resolve environmental issues surrounding the Hickory Woods neighborhood in South Buffalo.
"This is the largest appropriation ever for Hickory Woods," Brown told The Buffalo News Editorial Board on Wednesday as he detailed his spending plan.
The $5 million would be put in a reserve fund and could be used to pay claims to homeowners, relocation expenses or cleanup of the contaminated neighborhood.
