May 3--DECATUR -- Screams, blood and two cars, full of people, badly smashed.

Moments later, sirens blare as the ambulance, police and fire department arrive. After lengthy extrication of crash victims from the vehicles, the numbers are reported: two dead people and one drunk driver.
Though the situation was merely a simulation, it was real enough to evoke tears and gasps of disbelief from its audience. On Wednesday afternoon, St. Mary's Hospital emergency nurses sponsored a crash re-enactment called "Party for Life" at Cerro Gordo High School in which intoxicated students leaving a post-prom party ...
