May 3--STOCKTON -- Larry Huiras says it's time.
Time to hang up the whistle, put the ball cap in the closet and call it a career.
Huiras will retire as the men's and women's swimming and men's water polo coach at Delta College after the California Community Colleges Commission on Athletics Swimming and Diving Championships this week at Ohlone College in Fremont. The 63-year-old Stockton native will guide four of his men's swimmers at the state meet today through Saturday, then look back on a treasure trove of coaching memories from the past 41 years.
