May 3--The Birmingham Royal Ballet brings its lavish production of to town this weekend. In the tradition of grand story ballets, this company has been turning out superb productions for more than 75 years.
America's major ballet companies present the classics as well, but the British can't be matched for a certain elegance and refinement in the ballet world. The Virginia Arts Festival is importing this company for three performances in recognition of the Jamestown 2007 celebration.
