MILLBURY - In addition to approving the fiscal 2008 budget, voters at Tuesday night's annual town meeting redefined the job of director of public works and accepted several streets as public ways.
Voters established a Department of Public Works, which consolidates the cemetery, highway, parks and sewer departments. In addition, the amended bylaw defined the qualifications and role of the director of public works. The job will require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field and the director preferably will be registered as a civil engineer and have experience in public works, construction and management.
