May 4--RADFORD -- As reaching the top sometimes mandates starting at the bottom, reaching the next level sometimes requires taking a harder road. Few understand such concepts better than Derek Kiser.
The 20-year-old Sissonville, W.Va., driver is competing in his first full Late Model Stock season at Motor Mile Speedway, where two years ago he won a Late Model truck championship on the merits of a division-high 13 victories.
