May 6--When the Santa Fe Kiwanis Club was founded late in April 1921, it became the first service club in the City Different.
Some 85 years later, the Kiwanis Club still is true to its founding principle of community service.
The club, which meets from noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday at Hotel St. Francis, is perhaps best known for its annual fundraiser, Zozobra.
The dramatic burning of Old Man Gloom each September is arguably Santa Fe's most popular spectacle, but for the Kiwanis Club, Zozobra also represents an important source of funds for its year-round communityprojects. At its 85th anniversary banquet on April 17, the ...
