Beechwood High School Principal Glen Miller has been named the new superintendent of the Beechwood School District, replacing Fred Bassett, who is retiring June 30 after 11 years in the post.

Miller, who's been an educator for 24 years in the Fort Mitchell district, was chosen by the Beechwood Board of Education Monday, which awarded him a four-year contract with an annual salary of $110,000.

He beat out 20 other applicants for the job heading one of the highest-achieving school districts in Kentucky.
