It was a pleasure to learn about Washington Gardner in a letter to the editor from Frank Passic of Albion (M/J 2000). I attended Washington Gardner school from 1935 to 1942 (grades five through eleven). I am ashamed to say that all during those years I had no information about Washington Gardner.
