Funny, but it seems like it wasn't all that long ago that a four-stroke was an unproven commodity, an eco-friendly experiment of sorts. A few short years later and those initial four-stroke power plants, and the boats that house them, have become the de facto standard for the industry. Lately, manufacturers have shown us they can eke out even more horsepower from the four-stroke mill. Those same manufacturers also have shown that they can tone things down to a more affordable price.
The veteran models, however, remain the bedrock of the movement. Clean, strong and now boasting the added benefit of a lengthy resume, these models may not be the breakout stars any longer, but ...
