If anyone ever tries to tell you that watching an event like the Bassmaster Classic on the tube is "almost like being there," look at him dead in the eye and say, "Not even close." I've watched and enjoyed ESPN's coverage of the Classic, and numerous other fishing events, and while sports reporters manage to convey the excitement well, they don't come close to capturing the moments.

Now that I've been to my first Classic (of hopefully many), I can say it's one exciting event. If you ever have the opportunity, I recommend taking the time to rub elbows with these bass fishing and boating celebrities.
