An angler posted a simple question on an online forum that required more than a simple answer. He had two 12-volt batteries wired in parallel (positive to positive and negative to negative) to power his 12-volt trolling motor. He had a two-bank onboard charger installed in his boat and wanted to know if he should charge both batteries with one of the charger's banks or if it was better to use both banks, hooking one up to each battery. The smart-aleck answer would have been "yes," but, the more I thought about the question the more involved the answer became.
