I am delighted to see the several articles recently devoted to the economic thought of Dudley Dillard in the Journal of Economic Issues [June 1993]. During the year that Dillard was an instructor in economics at my institution, the University of Delaware, he published three important articles. Two were in the Journal of Economic History [Dillard 1942a] and American Economic Review [Dillard 1942c], journals indexed by the Index of Economic Journals [Vol. 3, 1940-49]. However, one article appeared in a journal not indexed by the Index of Economic Journals and, therefore, may have escaped the notice of modem economists who would be interested.
