May 8--On Sunday, Aberdonians used half the amount of treated water they normally use, while the wastewater treatment plant continues to run at full capacity, officials said.
On Sunday, the city asked Aberdonians to cut back on treated water use. Janel Ellingson, water treatment plant supervisor, said the city used 1.3 million gallons of treated water Sunday. Ellingson said Aberdeen's May average is about 2.72 millions of gallons per day.
Ellingson said operations at the water treatment plant are the same regardless of how much rain falls.
The only way operations change is if a water main breaks or the plant loses ...
