A letter published on this page Wednesday incorrectly said the Syracuse Diocese had eliminated the Latin Mass when it announced that St. Stephen Church, 305 N. Geddes St., closes in August. Bishop James Moynihan said the pastor and parishioners were informed the Latin Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse.

On April 29 at 10:30 a.m., the goodly crowd had gathered at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Syracuse. People had assembled for the weekly celebration of Sunday Mass.
Their Mass was unique in as much as it was said or sung in Latin ...
