Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine recently installed the first 256-slice beta CT scanner in the United States for three months of testing. Johns Hopkins will test the Toshiba America Medical Systems scanner for early assessment of critical radiology and cardiac CT protocols. The scanner can measure subtle changes in blood flow or 1.5-mm blockages forming in blood vessels in the heart and brain.
