May 13--SAND SPRINGS -- Jerry Gerstle, a former Tulsa World security guard, died Thursday. He was 67.
A service has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Fisher Baptist Church under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland.
Gerstle was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Terlton to Doris and Allen Gerstle. After graduating from Terlton High School, he enlisted in the Army. He was discharged as a sergeant in 1963. In 1983, he joined the Air National Guard and served for five years.
Gerstle worked as a Southwest Tube truck driver, Jack's Convenience Store cashier and Tulsa Boys Home employee before coming to the Tulsa World. He retired as night ...
