May 13--A crowd of 75 parishioners gathered around a deep trench on a former farm off Sport Hill Road in Easton last Sunday to sing religious songs in their native Romanian and to bless the ground they will build on.
The Rev. Cornel Todeasa, their pastor, sprinkled holy water into the dugout that will become St. Dimitrie Romanian Orthodox Church.
"Finally, we have come to this time," Todeasa said, dressed in a long black tunic with a gold-colored mantle around his shoulders.
